Kakalak Release Highlights

We kicked off the celebration of Kakalak 2023 in style as contributors, family, and friends gathered at the Lancaster Cultural Arts Center. A huge thanks to everyone who participated!

editing team for 2024, also read the first place poem
by Lucinda Trew, “Eve knee-deep in kumquats in
the garden of temptation.”
Scott Douglass, previous publisher of Kakalak,
provides some background on his poem,
“Rust to Dust.”
Martin Settle talks about his art piece,
Monarch Caterpillars. He also presented
his poem, “The Old Reading Room.”
Publisher Anne Kaylor reads John
Desjarlais’ honorable mention poem,
“Welcome to the Neighborhood”
before concluding the event.
