2024 SUBMISSIONS WINDOW: March 1 to May 31, 2024
Submissions for the Kakalak 2024 Poetry & Art Contests are open through May 31. Please, before submitting, read the guidelines below and follow the links to submit poetry or art.
NOTE: Entry fee instructions are located at the bottom of the “SUBMIT ART” and “SUBMIT POETRY” pages (see links below).
BEFORE SUBMITTING, PLEASE DO THREE THINGS:
- Read ABOUT THE CONTESTS on this website.
- Review the GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS below step by step.
- Use “SUBMIT ART” or “SUBMIT POETRY” buttons below to link to individual contests.
FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS:
ELIGIBILITY: Anyone
FEE: $10 to submit up to 3 pieces
After submitting your fee, email your submission to kakalak@carolina.rr.com.
In the body of your email, include the following:
- Your full name as you want it to appear in Kakalak
- Your name as it is submitted to us by PayPal
- Phone number
- Email address
- USPS mailing address—If accepted, needed to mail your copy
- Titles of submissions—Exactly as you want them to appear in our publication
The fee for submitting is $10. Multiple submissions are allowed with a separate entry fee for each group of up to 3 pieces.
We accept unpublished work and work that has not won a monetary prize in another contest. We define “unpublished” as not previously appearing in a print or online publication. (See ABOUT THE CONTESTS for full details.)
We do NOT accept pornography or pieces promoting hatred of any kind.
Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us immediately if your piece is accepted elsewhere.
